HOW TO STAY HEALTHY ON A PLANE?
The environment inside an
airplane is certainly not healthy, no matter how luxurious the facilities are.
Therefore, it is imperative to take some precautionary steps to keep any
illness or discomfort at bay while traveling on a plane. Here are three main steps:
Keep
Moving
Flight travel often
involves sitting for a long period of time. This obviously will arrest
circulation and puts strain on your body muscles. The key here is to keep
moving. You may do some simple stretches that can be done sitting in the seat. You
may also do simple joint rotations to avoid stiffness in your joints. Another
way is to take a gentle walk up and down the cabin.
Sleep
Consciously
Conscious progressive
relaxation for half an hour is more beneficial than 4-5 hours of sleep. Perform
this when you are in the plane. You are not sleeping but shifting your
attention throughout the body in a peculiar way. You can do this by listening
to the audios/videos that are available online for guided relaxation. Their
voice is so soothing that you will feel really refreshed, calm, and composed
after this relaxation. You will be surprised to find that this also takes care
of jet lag to a great extent.
Keep
Pathogens Away
It is a fact that bacteria,
viruses and other such pathogens spread on commercial jets risking the health
of all passengers. The arm rest, tray table, toilet button are all places where
you can find such pathogens. Sanitizing your hands well, positioning the
ventilation above your head in the right way so as to blow out these pathogens,
etc. are some effective steps to keep such pathogens away.
Staying healthy involves
being emotionally healthy too. A common factor that often makes travelers
bothered is parking. Whether you are choosing Logan airport parking or parking at Seatac, make sure that you have opted for a safe and secure parking lot for
your vehicle.
